Master's student at Aalto University studying Mechanical Engineering / Outdoor enthusiast.
After finishing my bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering in the US, I moved to Finland
and had been working as a mechanic for two years before I began studying again at Aalto
University in the fall of 2018.
You see, I met the love of my life over six years ago in Ohio when she came overseas for a year long study abroad.
After the year, she invited me to come visit her home on Iniö in southwest Finland. Ever since, I have been enamoured by
Finland: the country and it's people. I have since learned much of Finnish culture
and language, and I intend to stay and work in this country after finishing school. Now, while I study, I'm looking
for companies based in Finland which which to bring fresh engineers into their team who are ready to commit to
long term growth and development.

While continuing my work as a mechanic, I am pursuing my
Master's of Science at Aalto University in Southern Finland. I am expected to graduate
in 2020. My academic focus has been on analysis of solid structures and product development.

Out in the beautiful archipelago of Finland, I worked year round on the service,
repair, and storage of boats ranging from small rowboats up to fourty feet and more. The specialty
of my workplace was both Volvo and Mercruiser inboard engines, as well as Honda and Suzuki outboard
engines.
The job consists of more than part replacement, as it is necessary to lift the boats from the sea,
conduct test drives, and operate large machinery to position boats on the property including a tractor and
industrial forklift.

After receiving the highest grade in my Mechanics of Materials class tought by Anna Dollar, she hired me
and my two classmates who similarly succeeded in the course as her assistant for the course the following
year. Originally, our task was to give feedback for the hundred students enrolled for the upcoming class,
students who were older than myself by at least a year and more senior at the school besides.
Through hard work and focused effort on providing students with usable, detailed feedback on their homework,
Dr. Dollar decided that she had the support necessary to institute a design project to end the course which had
been absent in years past. I helped her to craft the solution template and answer key with grading suggestions
for the project and my partner and I then hosted help sessions for the student teams who needed extra guidence
with the project.

My time studying in Oxford, Ohio provided me with a world-class undergraduate
education in the principals of Mechanical Engineering. I covered topic ranging form manufacturing, to design and
analysis, as well as thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid flow, and advanced versions as well.
Miami University is more than a technical university however, as it provides a libral eduation. As such, I have also
expanded my skillset with studies in technical writing, mathmatics, economics, and more. This bachelor's degree
prepared me for all my future studies, to be able to dive head first into any branch of the discipline.
